ACTRA (Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists): an organization which negotiates, safeguards and promotes the professional rights of its Members

The Flick Clique
: residents of the greater Youngstown area who want to see more non-mainstream fare on their movie screens. The Flick Clique's member's are interested in independent film makers, animation, shorts, documentaries and more; they sponsor the films and post-show discussions

NAMA (Native American Music Awards): a non-profit organization that is involved in the preservation of indigenous music

Nebraska Independent Film Projects: a nonprofit organization for Nebraska's independent media artists

Pontardawe Film Club: aiming to promote an interest in film in and around Pontardawe. Their members choose films which are likely to be entertaining but unlilkely to be selected by the major cinema chains in their area

Screen Studies at JMU (John Moores University): aims to span the separate but increasingly interwoven histories and practices of film, television, video and multimedia cultures

Society of Television Lighting Directors: provides a forum that stimulates a free exchange of ideas in all aspects of the television profession, promotes discussion on techniques and on the use and design of equipment, and more. Professional meetings are organized throughout the UK and abroad

Sooke Film Society: a member of the Vancouver Island Film Association (VIFA), and a participating community in the Island-wide initiative to promote the media industry in order to develop the economy of the region. The Society is interfacing with the local governing body in order that standards be maintained, and credibility established

Steadicam Operators Association: formed by Garrett Brown (the inventor of the Steadicam) and Nicola Pecorini in 1988 to connect skilled Steadicam operators with motion picture directors and producers. Today, the association represents steadicam operators around the world, providing referrals across the entire film and video industry

Women in Film and Video Vancouver: WIFVV is a non-profit society of professional women founded to support, advance, promote and celebrate the professional development and achievements of women involved in the British Columbia film, video and television industry
