PHILADELPHIA FILM SCHOOL

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA is the 4th largest DMA in the
United States. The city sports a NFL team (Eagles), a MLB team
(Phillies), a NBA team (76ers) and a hockey team (Flyers).
IMDB lists 710 feature films, TV series and specials that have been
shot in Philadelphia with perhaps the most famous being Rocky.
Philadelphia provides the perfect venue for any student wishing to
break into the motion picture or television business.
Philadelphia was the home of American Bandstand which shaped America’s
Top 40 music tastes with its daily TV broadcasts from 1957 through 1963
before going to a weekly format that lasted through 1989. During
its
heyday, a single appearance on American Bandstand could launch a new
artist, not to mention a new dance craze. The movie Hairspray is
loosely based on this phenomena.
